Financial Aid Information

We are committed to making the educational experience at all Lakeway Christian Schools affordable and accessible.

Families who anticipate needing financial assistance are encouraged to apply for financial aid before submitting an admissions application.

Lakeway Christian Schools uses Blackbaud Grant & Aid to evaluate financial aid applications. Families will submit their financial information directly through the Blackbaud Grant & Aid application. Blackbaud independently reviews and analyzes the information and provides a recommended award to the LCS Financial Aid Committee.

Once the committee has reviewed and approved an award, the family will be notified, and exact tuition payments will be calculated. The committee can take up to two weeks to review the documents after submission.

Who is Blackbaud Grant & Aid Assessment?

Blackbaud Grant & Aid Assessment is an independent, third party company that conducts financial analysis to determine your family’s financial need. Your educational institution receives a confidential report outlining your financial situation based on the information obtained in your application and supporting tax documents.

Who is eligible for Blackbaud Grant & Aid?

All families at Lakeway Christian Schools with students in grades K-12 are eligible to apply for financial assistance. Awards are given out based on financial need according to the Blackbaud Grant & Aid application. Pre-K families are not eligible for financial assistance.

How much does it cost to apply?

Blackbaud financial aid applications are through a 3rd party and there is a $45 - $55 application fee depending on
the complexity of the application. Families who choose to enroll will be credited the financial aid application fee. This is a global application fee through Blackbaud.

Who decides how much financial aid a family will receive?

The educational institution granting aid is solely responsible for determining the final grant or aid award. The analysis completed by Blackbaud Grant & Aid Assessment serves as a recommendation only.

I probably don't qualify. Should I apply for aid anyway?

Blackbaud Grant & Aid Assessment does not set any income guidelines or have restrictions on who may apply for financial aid. If you feel your family should receive financial aid, it is to your benefit to apply.

Is it too late to apply for financial aid?

Yes. There is a window for applying for financial aid. LCS will communicate the financial aid window each year as part of the continuous enrollment period. Current families who miss the deadline will not be eligible for aid without a waiver from the financial aid committee.

What documentation will I need to submit?

You will need to submit your federal income tax return, W-2 forms, and supporting documentation for non-taxable income.

Why do I have to provide personal and confidential information?

In order to provide your educational institution with an accurate assessment, Blackbaud Grant & Aid Assessment must verify your expenses and household income. By providing us with all of your information, we can assist your institution in making an informed decision about the amount of financial aid needed for each family.

Is a credit check required?

No. Blackbaud does not require a credit check and applying for aid will not affect your credit rating.

Is the application process secure?

Yes. All documentation received is imaged upon receipt and then destroyed. Then, the application data becomes property of the applicable institution.

How can I check the status of my application?

You may login to your Blackbaud user account to review the status of your application. Please allow 2 weeks processing time from the date you provided the supporting documents before inquiring further about receipt and/or status of the uploaded documents.

Can I make changes to my application after I submit it?

Yes. You can add additional schools and make corrections to the application form by logging into your account.

If you make substantive changes to your application after you submit it, we recommend contacting the school or institution making award decisions to notify them of the changes.

Will Blackbaud Grant & Aid send a copy of my assessment?

No. The assessment of your application will be sent only to the educational institution or organization providing the award. Information sent to Blackbaud Grant & Aid Assessment to complete your assessment, such as your 1040 tax form or W-2, will not be returned to you.

I forgot my username or password. How do I log in?

If you’ve forgotten your username, it will be sent to the email address associated with your account. If you’ve forgotten your password, a link will be emailed to the email address associated with your account that allows you to reset your password.

How do I submit supporting documents?

After completing the online application, you will need to upload all required supporting documentation. Documents can be uploaded online by logging in to your account.

How do I find out if I've been awarded financial aid?

Lakeway Christian Schools will notify you when an award decision has been made.

Additional suggestions to ensure timely processing of your assessment:

First, complete your assessment as accurately as possible. The responses submitted on your application let Blackbaud know what supporting documents to expect and if errors are discovered later, the process can be unnecessarily extended.

Also, if you own a business or have income from any activity other than a W-2, carefully review the documentation requirements listed here and submit all documentation as soon as possible after you complete your application form. Document batches have an estimated processing time of 2 weeks, and submitting multiple batches of documents on different dates can extend the time needed to process your documents.

Do I need to apply for Blackbaud Grant & Aid every year?

Yes! We cannot guarantee your Blackbaud Grant & Aid award from year to year. Since financial situations may change, all families must reapply each year to find out their award.
